Economic factors play into the role of whether or not people have the discretionary income to spend on entertainment and going out. Things like dynamic pricing help because prices depends on what teams are playing against each other for that given game. To follow this trend of dynamic pricing the Patriots introduced variable pricing in 2014.
Variable pricing is the same concept as dynamic pricing. This meaning that ticket prices vary depending on things such as the opponent they are playing against, day of the week, time of the game, and placement of the game on the season’s schedule (http://www.patriots.com/news/article-1/Patriots-introduce-variable-pricing-for-2014-season-tickets/1371bc29-dbda-4fca-8ebd-d8d743551f92).
With this variable ticket pricing I think the Patriots made a smart move by implementing it; especially when we live in a day where if prices are too high people will watch the game at home instead. By having different factors play a role in the ticket prices I think they could increase ticket sales. Especially when there are many people that may not have a lot of discretionary income to spend the games with the lower prices will give them a better opportunity to go see their favorite team live.
